When Alan saw George Staub's grave we can work out that the current date is October 14, 2000 (two years and 2 days after October 12, 1998). At the beginning of the story Alan is alone at the house, on a wednesday. October 14, 2000 is actually a Saturday!

On page 5, in the first paragraph, states that Alan Parker shares a apartment with Three other guys. Farther down the page it says that both of his roommates are in classes. So how many are there...
